Getting started
What is VideoKavach?+
VideoKavach is a secure video hosting platform built for Indian coaching institutes and course creators. It stores your videos encrypted, stamps each viewer's identity on playback, and lets you control exactly where videos can be watched — a non-DRM alternative to VdoCipher at a fraction of the price.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes. The Free plan includes storage and bandwidth to test the platform end to end — upload a video, embed it, and see the watermark and protection in action before you upgrade.
Do I need any technical skills?+
No. Upload through the dashboard, then embed with a single iframe or our free WordPress / Moodle plugins. If you do have a developer, a full REST API is available too.
Security & piracy
Can students download or rip my videos?+
There's no easy way to. Files are encrypted, streaming links expire within minutes, and each viewer's identity is watermarked on every frame so any screen recording is traceable. No web video is 100% un-rippable, but VideoKavach removes the easy paths and makes the rest traceable. See our Security page for the full picture.
How do watermarks work?+
The viewer's email, phone, or a student ID you pass in is displayed over the video as it plays. If a recording leaks, the watermark identifies the exact account — which deters most people from sharing in the first place.
What stops someone sharing the embed link?+
Videos only play on the website domains you allow, and the underlying stream links are signed and expire in minutes. A copied link is useless on any other site and stops working almost immediately.
Is this DRM?+
No, and that's intentional. Studio-grade DRM is costly and adds device headaches. VideoKavach combines strong encryption with identity watermarking and access controls, which covers the real-world threat for educators at a much lower cost.
Pricing & billing
How is VideoKavach priced?+
Plans are billed monthly or annually in INR, with storage, bandwidth, and video limits per plan. See the Pricing page for current tiers. You can also buy one-time add-ons for extra storage, bandwidth, or AI credits.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Cancel from your billing settings and you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't bill you again after that. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Do you offer refunds?+
We offer a 7-day full refund on your first paid subscription. Renewals and partial periods aren't prorated. Unused AI credits can be refunded within 7 days. Full details are on the Refund & Cancellation Policy page.
Integrations & playback
Which platforms does it integrate with?+
Free plugins for WordPress and Moodle, a one-line iframe embed for any website, and a REST API with webhooks for custom backends. See the Integrations page.
Does playback work on mobile?+
Yes — playback adapts to the viewer's connection and works across modern phones, tablets, and desktops, including inside LMS mobile apps.
Can I dub or add captions to my videos?+
Yes. VideoKavach can auto-generate captions and AI dubbing into multiple Indian and international languages. See the AI Features page.
